1967

Hubert Acton: Starts Acton Animation

Family patriarch. Disneyland visionary. Hubert served in the Army Air Corps as a belly gunner during World War II. After the war, he spent time in Europe learning electronics before returning to the United States to follow in his father’s footsteps in the plastering trade. After several years of independent plastering work, he went to work for Disneyland where his tenure lasted 18 years. After his successful run with Disney, Hubert started Acton Animation with his son, Ken. Hubert and Acton Animation were instrumental in the design and construction of landmark destinations such as Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina; Astroworld, the Houston-area Six Flags theme park; and Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. He has creations in the most celebrated theme parks in the world.

Ken Acton: Takes The Reins

Ken Acton also began his adult life in the service of his country. Upon leaving the Air Force in 1966, Ken followed in his father’s footsteps by honing his skills at Disneyland. He left to establish the company business with his father. He furthered the Acton family legacy with imaginative projects renowned for their quality, creativity and fidelity to the designer’s vision. After the death of his father in 1995, Ken relocated Acton Animation to Las Vegas, Nevada to fill the significant demand in the ever-changing gaming industry for the imaginative designs which the Acton Family has become known for.

Scott Acton: Headed To New Heights

Heading up the third generation and continuing the Acton legacy is Scott Acton. Scott began his career working for his father at sixteen. After a long family history of Disney projects, Scott decided to attend “Disney University” where he learned the business and leadership skills necessary to build a successful career. In 2002, Scott started his own company, Trevi Manufacturing. He grew Trevi from start-up to $12 million company in only two years, resulting in being named the 2005 U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Person of the Year for the State of Nevada. At Forté, Scott continues three generations of creative execution of the world’s most iconic experiential spaces.
